BTS member V discloses hearing loss problem – report

V, one of the popular members of K-pop supergroup BTS, reportedly revealed during a livestream that he has been experiencing hearing loss in one ear.

According to Yonhap News Agency, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, shared the news during a livestream session with fellow BTS member Jungkook on the fan community platform Weverse on Wednesday.

During the livestream, V said his hearing began to deteriorate around 2 1/2 years ago and has not fully recovered.

“If my left ear can hear 100 percent, my right ear is at just 30 percent,” V said during the session. He added that he is taking medication and regularly visiting a hospital for treatment.

Jungkook also opened up about his health during the same livestream, revealing an injury near his shin that he described as being close to a stress fracture, accompanied by severe inflammation and possible micro-damage to the bone.

“Although I wanted to run energetically on the stage today, pain forced me to hold back at times,” Jungkook said, asking for fans’ understanding.

The award-winning K-pop group is currently on a US tour.

BTS is also set to perform in the Philippines on March 13, 14, and 16 next year at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan. — Carissa Alcantara
