Daquis, Marano star in All-Star game

The Rachel Daquis-reinforced Star Magic Lady Spikers defeated the Aby Maraño-led Lady Setters in straight sets, 25-23, 29-27, in a celebrity All-Star volleyball game at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, May 21.

Daquis, joined by Cignal teammate Gel Cayuna, in the Lady Spikers and F2’s Maraño joined by Petro Gazz’s Grethcel Soltones in the Lady Setters took a step back, allowing the celebrities to take the spotlight this time, though.

Showcasing her volleyball prowess, Analain Salvador led the Star Magic Lady Spikers with 11 points.

She also went on to win the Best Hitter and the MVP awards.

Salvador bannered the Mythical Six team composed of her teammates Erin Navarro and Gillian Vicencio as well as Mikha Lim, Jannah Zaplan, and Isabel Laohoo of the Lady Setters mentored by Petro Gazz head coach Oliver Almadro.

Lim and Vicencio earned the Best Setter and Best Receiver plums, respectively.
