P2.6B worth of funds turned over by PCSO to Bureau of Treasury

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over P2.6 billion worth of funds to the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) in accordance with its mandate as the major charitable arm of the country.

In a ceremony on Monday, May 15, PCSO General Manager Mel Robles handed a check amounting to P2,665,701,213.78 to Deputy Treasurer Erwin Sta. Ana which represents the agency’s remittance for 2022.

“This is a significant increase of 70% or P1,097,678,322.53  to the agency’s total remittance of P 1,560,102,891.25 in 2021,” PCSO said.

Robles expressed his gratitude for the efforts and support of PCSO officers, employees, and stakeholders, which resulted in greater revenues for the agency.

“We are proud to contribute to the government’s coffers. The P2.6 billion represents our unwavering commitment to serve the needs of the people,” Robles said.

He also reminded the public to only patronize agency-sanctioned games.

BTr is the government body in charge of managing the state’s financial resources and maximizing revenues from available funds. — Luisa K. Cabato
