Filipinas unharmed after NZ shooting incident

The Philippine National Women’s Football Team is unharmed after a shooting incident occurred on Thursday in Auckland, New Zealand, hours before the first kick-off of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“All members of the Philippine Women’s National Team delegation at the FIFA Women’s World Cup are safe,” the team tweeted on Thursday.

Three people, including the perpetrator, were killed at a construction site in the city’s central business district, according to police. Four people and a police officer are also reported to have been injured.

The Filipinas’ first game will be against Switzerland on Friday.
