Now healthy, Valdez glad to finally make solid contributions for Creamline

For the past seven months, Creamline superstar Alyssa Valdez worked hard to recover from the knee injury she sustained in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference in December last year.

Now healthy, Valdez is finally making significant contributions to the Cool Smashers and she’s glad to turn the corner.

“Honestly, it feels good to finally contribute to the team and it’s nice that I can finally gauge the result of my hard work in the past eight months,” said Valdez.

“I’m just that they [my teammates] are here and we’re happy to help each other for the Cool Smashers,” added Valdez.

The 30-year-old volleybelle has been superb for Creamline the past two games in this year’s Invitational Conference round robin semifinals.

Against F2 Logistics, Valdez, who missed the entire All-Filipino Conference, unloaded 17 points in a 12-25, 25-15, 23-25, 30-28, 15-7 win on July 20.

The three-time PVL MVP then dropped 22 markers including a match-clinching attack for a 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 24-26, 15-10 triumph against Cignal on July 22.

Valdez and the defending champs Cool Smashers thus improved to 3-0 in the semis, leading the pack and boosting their chances to make the finals.

Creamline top hitter Tots Carlos is glad that Valdez is really getting her mojo back just in time for the crucial games ahead.

“It’s a team effort for us and it’s really good that Ate Ly [Alyssa] is really regaining her old form and we’re happy for her.”
