‘It’s Showtime’ airs despite MTRCB suspension order

Despite a suspension order by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, “It’s Showtime” aired today, Tuesday.

The hosts, led by Jhong Hilario, addressed the issue and reiterated the statement their home network, ABS-CBN had released — they will appeal the decision

“Kami ay maghahain ng motion for reconsideration dahil naniniwala kami na walang nangyaring paglabag sa anumang batas. Habang nakabinbin ang motion for reconsideration, ang desisyon ng suspensyon ng program ay hindi pa pinal at epektibo (We will file a motion for reconsideration because we believe that no violation of any law occurred. While the motion for reconsideration is pending, the decision to suspend the program is not yet final and effective).”

They also assured that viewers will continue to enjoy the show while waiting for the final decision.

“Patuloy din kaming makikipag ugnayan sa MTRCB para makapagpatuloy ang ang It’s Showtime sa paghahatid ng libangan at saya sa minamahal naming madlang people (We will also continue to coordinate with the MTRCB to ensure that It’s Showtime can keep on providing entertainment and joy to our beloved viewers, the madlang people).”

Hilario ended the short statement, saying, “Buong puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nagmamahal at sumusuporta sa It’s Showtime (We wholeheartedly thank everyone who loves and supports It’s Showtime).”

It’s Showtime hosts also took to social media on Monday to assure their viewers.

“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity,” Vice Ganda wrote on Instagram and Twitter.

“FAMILY! @itsshowtimena family mahal ko kayong lahat!!!! ano man ang mangyari basta’t magkakasama tayo. Together as One #GiftOfFamily #GiftOfMakingPeopleHappy,” Kim Chiu also posted on Instagram.

The hashtag #TayoAngShowtime also became the top trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) Philippines as social media users expressed their support for the show.
