Marcos names INC head Manalo as special envoy for OFW concerns

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo as his special envoy for overseas Filipino concerns.

The Presidential Communications Office announced the appointment of Manalo and other government officials in a Facebook post on Saturday.

Manalo, the eldest son of the late INC executive Eraño Manalo, assumed the post as the INC’s executive minister in September 2009.

The influential INC, known for its bloc voting system, endorsed the candidacies of Marcos and his then running mate, Sara Duterte-Carpio, during the 2022 national elections. — Catherine S. Valente
