DOH reports 175 new Covid-19 cases on Nov. 22

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 175 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday, Nov. 22, adding to the total national count of 4,123,489 cases.

The DOH Covid-19 tracker, however, revealed no new fatalities, maintaining the country’s fatality rate at 1.6 percent.

Meanwhile, active cases stand at 3,110.

Recovery figures continue to rise, with 4,053,624 individuals having successfully recovered, marking a recovery rate of 98.3 percent, boosted by 113 additional recoveries.

Concerning Covid-19 bed occupancy, it said that 10.5 percent of the 1,876 designated ICU beds are in use, with 15.76 percent occupancy for non-ICU beds.

Of the 2,014 available mechanical ventilators, 109 are actively supporting Covid-19 patients.

Despite these numbers, the public is urged by the health department not to be complacent.

The DOH emphasized the ongoing importance of adhering to basic health standards, including wearing properly fitting face masks, staying in well-ventilated areas, and promptly isolating individuals with Covid-19 symptoms. — Zekinah Elize Espina
