LBC recognized during Awards Night

At the Annual Awards Appreciation gala event hosted by Talamak Golf Club on Thanksgiving weekend, LBC, the Philippines’ premier cargo-forwarding business, was again honored for its significant contribution to the development of sports in the Greater Toronto community, particularly in the sports arenas of golf, basketball, and badminton.

As one of the recipients of LBC’s corporate sponsorship and financial support, Talamak GC, one of the most active golf groups in the GTA, acknowledged the invaluable contribution that LBC had extended to various sports and charitable organizations in 2023. During the presentation of a glimmering appreciation trophy to Raffy Policarpio, LBC Country Head, the executives of Talamak mentioned the
many initiatives spearheaded by LBC during summer.

In collaboration with Talamak, LBC’s de facto sports partner, various events were successfully completed. Among them were the 5th LBC Fun Badminton tournament for racquet-wielding enthusiasts in May, the GTA Interleague Golf tournament in June, the TGA Chairman’s Cup team competition in July, ANCOP charity walk in August, the in-house basketball games for LBC staff, and of course, the season-
long golf tournaments within the Talamak organization.

The awards ceremony was held at the banquet hall of Lara’s Restaurant in North York, Toronto. With members and guests enjoying fine Mediterranean food and wine, there was also enough time for the event participants to sing, dance and drink, primarily to recognize and acknowledge the awardees – golf winners, sponsors, and donors. Highlight of the night however came when Raffy Policarpio, LBC’s top
honcho, hoisted the giant LBC Cup as he handed the trophy over to the 2023 champion, Rene Nacin.

Amidst the huge celebratory cheers that echoed around the banquet hall, LBC pledged to sustain its corporate sponsorship to Talamak and various other organizations in the many more years to come. In June 2024, for example, Talamak Golf will be hosting the 14 th GTA Interleague golf tournament, in partnership with LBC. This major event will feature the involvement of six prominent golf associations in
Ontario with an expected participation of over a hundred golf players, guests, and sponsors.

This gala affair concluded with both Chito Yorro and Boyet Bautista, Talamak Golf’s Chairman and President, respectively, thanking LBC and Raffy Policarpio for their enduring support and friendship to the club for almost two decades, and counting.

The giant LBC Cup trophy handed over to the 2023 champion, Rene Nacin, by the previous year’s title holder, Rodel Bince.  Proudly holding on to the trophies are Raffy Policarpio, LBC top honcho, Chito Mendoza and Boyet Bautista, 3rd and 2nd runners-up respectively.

Talented emcees, Karl Bartolome and Alfred Moreno, entertained and delighted the guests with their eloquence, wit, humour, and melodious singing voices.
