Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil gave the update on Marcos’ condition on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

“He is doing well. He has a scheduled teleconference this afternoon,” Garafil said.

The President tested positive for the viral disease on Monday night, Dec. 4. He was told to undergo five days of mandatory isolation.

This prompted him to cancel his in-person engagements scheduled for the week, and his office said he would be holding meetings via teleconference instead.

While in isolation, he signed the Public-Private Partnership Code of the Philippines (PPP Code) and the Internet Transactions Act of 2023 on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

He also designated Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin to deliver his message on his behalf during the National Jail Decongestion Summit held in Manila on Wednesday.

Marcos is now on his second day of isolation.

This is the third time Marcos had contracted Covid-19. He last tested positive for the disease in July 2022.

His first bout with Covid-19 was in March 2020 during the height of the pandemic. — Betheena Unite
