“We have been doing this tradition in Baguio for 26 years since 1998. This gift-giving activity is the contribution of the Filipino-Chinese Community Group in this city to the programs and development projects of our government,” said Peter Ng of the Spring Festival Baguio 2024 executive committee.

Ng said the Filipino-Chinese Community Group composed of nine associations is now united to further strengthen the relationship between Chinese and Filipino and support any program of the city and help the community.

He said that the assimilation and blending of the two unique cultures through the annual celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year will definitely promote unity, peace, and prosperity for the people here.

“I am grateful to the city government because the annual Spring Festival celebration has become an institution by virtue of City Ordinance No. 18, Series of 1999. I also invite everyone to join the crowd drawing event of Grand Colorful Parade on February 13 and Little Chinatown display on February 11 and 18 in Session Road pedestrianization,” Ng added.

One-hundred families benefitted from the activity held at the Dona Aurora Elementary School.
