Bagoong Festival in Lingayen, Pangasinan set

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – This capital town is once again gearing up for the much-awaited Bagoong Festival, a celebration of its renowned One Town, One Product (OTOP), from March 14 to 16.

Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil promised three days filled with excitement and events.

“For this year’s festivities, we have prepared various activities that will surely usher and showcase our people’s camaraderie, excellence, and active social involvement,” Bataoil said.

“It is, thus, only fitting that we gather anew as one community to help one another flourish by rejoicing in our cultural and food festival. Let this serve as an avenue for promoting Lingayen’s bagoong as well as its stakeholders.”

Festival highlights include Miss Gay Lingayen Bagoong 2024, bagoong factory tour, and a cooking exhibition. A street-dancing and grand float parade caps the festival on March 16.

The first Bagoong Festival in April 2011 was celebrated in only two barangays but has expanded to cover all parts of this town.

Bagoong here is known as the tastiest fermented fish paste and sauce in the country and even worldwide, Bataoil said.  Liezle Basa Iñigo
