Japan, the Philippines and the United States voiced “serious concern” Thursday over China’s actions in the South China Sea, the nations’ leaders said, amid a territorial dispute that has become increasingly tense.

“We express our serious concerns about the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) dangerous and aggressive behavior in the South China Sea,” according to a joint statement by the three leaders after a historic meeting in Washington. — AFP
