2 trapped siblings killed in Tondo fire

Two siblings died from suffocation after a fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay 155, Dagupan Extension, Tondo, Manila on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The Manila Police District (MPD) said the deceased victims were girls with ages eight and three.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire was declared first alarm at 4:24 p.m.

Firefighters managed to put the fire under control at 4:24 p.m. It was extinguished at around 5 p.m.

Police said the girls were trapped inside a room on the third floor of a residential building.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
