“No other member of the Soaring Falcons Basketball Men’s Team may wear this number again, in recognition of Jerom Lastimosa’s remarkable journey as an athlete,” the university posted.

Last season, Lastimosa had averaged 14.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the UAAP.

It is not clear whether or not the Falcons’ point guard will play again next season, after it was reported that he had been injured in the lead-up to the upcoming UAAP season.

Lastimosa had also won the gold medal under the Chot Reyes-led Gilas Pilipinas squad at the recent Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Season 86 of the UAAP starts on Saturday.
