“Tár” (premieres September 9). From producer-writer-director Todd Field comes Tár, starring Cate Blanchett as the iconic musician Tár. The movie examines the changing nature of power, its impact and durability in modern world. She is widely considered one of the greatest living composers/conductors and first-ever female chief conductor of a major German Orchestra.
Batman Day on HBO and HBO GO. In celebration of Batman Day, binge on movies of the caped crusader from “Batman,” “Batman Returns,” “Batman Forever” and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy: “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises.” Check out series such as Gotham Knights, Gotham and more. “Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves” (premieres September 30). A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page and, Hugh Grant.
