PH logs 152 new Covid-19 cases on Oct. 11

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 152 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, Oct. 11, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 4,116,794.

Meanwhile, the DOH Covid-19 tracker reported 12 additional Covid-19-related deaths, but the fatality rate remained at 1.6 percent.

The country currently has 3,033 active Covid-19 cases.

DOH said there were 136 new recoveries, representing a 98.3 percent recovery rate, with a total of 4,047,047 people surviving the virus.

Concerning the availability of intensive care unit (ICU) beds designated for Covid-19 patients, the DOH reported that 224 beds, or 11.38 percent, of the 1,969 available ICU beds are currently occupied.

Non-ICU Covid-19 beds have also been frequently utilized, with 3,028, or 16.29 percent, of the 18,590 available beds in use, while mechanical ventilators, numbering 2,096, have 95 currently in use by Covid-19 patients. — Zekinah Elize Espina
