In her speech during the recent PAO’s 5th National Convention for the rank-and-file employee in Pasay City, the official urged the agency to continue serving “as a beacon of hope for countless Filipinos who find themselves in dire need of legal aid and representation.”

“Let us be reminded of the core purpose of the PAO – to serve the indigent Filipinos. It is through your excellence in service that countless lives have been transformed, and justice has been rendered to those who need it the most,” she said.

“Your unwavering commitment to upholding the rights of the marginalized is truly commendable, and it is in this spirit that we urge you to continue providing excellent services,” Duterte told the audience.

As she delivered her speech, her former mentor, PAO chief Persida Rueda-Acosta, looked on.

She called on PAO’s staff and personnel to continue striving for “a society where justice knows no boundaries and where the rights of every Filipino are protected and upheld.”

“Let us never waver in our pursuit of justice, for it is through our collective efforts that we can create a brighter future for all,” Duterte said.

The Vice President also took the time to thank PAO for their support of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) after it partnered with Duterte’s offices to provide legal assistance to beleaguered teachers and other Filipinos.

“In times of uncertainty and challenges, you have consistently stepped up to the plate, providing legal guidance and support that has helped us navigate through complex issues concerning our constituents. Your dedication to public service has not gone unnoticed, and we, the Filipino people, are deeply grateful for your unwavering commitment,” she said. — Raymund Antonio
