Ambos Panaderia and Cocina introduces the trending pastry at SM Aura in Taguig
After various iterations of the croissant, including the spiral, cube, and most recently the croffle, the crunchy flat croissant is now taking the internet by storm. Even if it sparked debate among pastry chefs about flattening a croissant, the pastry still captured the interest of foodies.
Surging in popularity since last year, the flat croissant is typically a flattened pastry, resulting in a denser, richer texture, and a more pronounced buttery taste.
Now, you have the opportunity to try it as Ambos Panaderia and Cocina, based in Laguna, is in Manila for a limited time. “Join the foodie conversation as we introduce the controversial twist to the classic croissant with our flat croissants! Available in flavors such as Plain Butter, Biscoff, and Matcha Almond variations,” Ambos announced in an Instagram post.
The shop also offers other items from its menu, including Creamy Spinach Croissant, Oreo Bomboloni, Nutella Bomboloni, Oreo Milk Cream Donut, Strawberry Milk Cream Donut, Mango Fruit Cup, Queso-sant, Lasagna Croissant, Ham and Cheese Croissant, and, of course, its original best-selling Garlic Cream Cheese Loaf.
Ambos Panaderia’s SM Aura popup is only available from March 13 to 17. If you’re unable to visit during those dates, you can find their branches at Rodeo Drive Laguna Belair 2 in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and Southwoods City in Biñan, Laguna. — Rey Ilagan
