Zayn Malik announces upcoming album ‘Room Under The Stairs’

Zayn posted a photo of the album’s cover on his Instagram account and revealed that it is set for release on May 17.

The singer had also posted a photo of his sudden appearance on the talk show “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” where he interrupted host Jimmy Fallon’s monologue with a note that announced that the first single for the album, “What I Am,” will be released on March 15.

Since March 6, Zayn has been posting teasers about the upcoming album on his Instagram through short clips with snippets of the songs on the album. Some of the teasers’ captions were speculated to be lyrics to the upcoming single.

Fans have expressed their glee following Zayn’s return to the spotlight as he had barely been seen by the public eye since the release of his single, “Love Like This” in 2023.

Zayn rose to fame through One Direction alongside other popular members such as Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne. Zayn left the boyband in 2015 and the rest of the members eventually announced a hiatus to their fans in the same year. All of the members had since delved into their solo careers.

In his solo career, Zayn has released a total of three studio albums which are “Mind of Mine,” “Icarus Falls,” and “Nobody Is Listening.” Some of the singer’s popular songs are “Pillow Talk,” “I Don’t Want To Live Forever (with Taylor Swift),” “Dusk Till Dawn,” and “Let Me.”

Zayn is currently signed under a recording contract with record label Mercury Records and a management contract with United Talent Agency. — Abigail Adriatico
