President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered extended construction hours and round-the-clock emergency repairs on government infrastructures as part of the administration’s “Build, Better, More” program.
In a short video posted on his Facebook account on Saturday, President Marcos said his directive aims to ensure timely completion of projects and provide high-quality infrastructure that could withstand the test of time.
“Under the Build, Better, More, program, we will intensify ongoing infrastructure projects,” the President said.
“Construction hours will be extended and emergency repairs will be conducted around the clock to ensure timely completion,” he added.
As part of the government initiatives on climate change, the President stated he would only greenlight projects that meet quality requirements.
“So that the public won’t be bothered by substandard infrastructure that needs to be repeatedly fixed just a few years later or after a typhoon,” the President said. — Charles Dantes
