Italian Embassy celebrates 77th Italian Republic Day

The Embassy of Italy in Manila celebrated on June 2 the 77th Italy’s Republic Day with cocktail reception at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Manila in BGC, Taguig City.

Italian Ambassador Marco Clemente and wife, Mme. Maria Rosaria, received more than 500 guests from the Philippine government, Diplomatic Corps, Consular Corps, business leaders, and members of the Italian community. Joining the Italian Ambassador Marco Clemente in the toasts were Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Jose De Vega and Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Apostolic Nuncio Charles James Brown.

During the toasts, the national anthems of Philippines and Italy were played by the Manila Symphony Orchestra and Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Jeffrey Solares. Manila Symphony Orchestra is one of the oldest orchestras in Asia and the longest surviving artistic institution in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, incoming Club Bulakeño President Emmy Florentino Gonzalez celebrated her birth milestone with dear friends at her posh Magallanes Village home.

Together with her children Carlo, Marla flying in from Vancouver, Andrea and Marco, the gorgeous hostess welcomed her guests with a mouth-watering array of appetizers with various cheeses and cold cuts and a wide assortment of sushi.The main entrees consisted of the celebrant’s famous home cooked callos with seafood paella, rib-eye steak, and signature lengua.

Guests included ice queen Alice Samson, Chuchi Villar, Gyngyn Quiazon and Zonta Club executives Rita Dy, Lizette Lim, and Beging Soriano and singer Darius Razon.
