Unbeaten Magnolia takes on NorthPort

Magnolia Chicken Timplados guns for its sixth win in as many games in the PBA On Tour when the Hotshots take on the NorthPort Batang Pier on Friday, June 23, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Hotshots have been playing solidly in the preseason so far, ending each time with a victory.

The wards of coach Chito Victolero though are taking on a Batang Pier side that has chalked up three straight wins since opening the On Tour with back-to-back losses.

Arvin Tolentino has taken the lead role for NorthPort, which is looking to move on after ace guard Robert Bolick left the team to play in the Japan B.League.

The Dyip are coming off a 107-102 triumph over the Meralco Bolts last Sunday.

For a team that has missed the playoffs the last 15 conferences, every lesson learned in the PBA On Tour is welcome for coach John Cardel.

And he’s happy to see bruising forward Eric Camson rise to the occasion, especially against the Bolts the last time as he scored 30 points in the win.

But other than Camson, Terrafirma also has vastly improved Juami Tiongson, comebacking Isaac Go and Drei Cahilig to show the way against Phoenix.
