Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, Department of Education NCR regional director Wilfredo Cabral and Marikina City Schools Division Office (SDO) superintendent Ma. Evalou Concepcion Agustin will spearhead the grand welcome and opening ceremony on Sunday where DepEd Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte has been invited as guest speaker.

Organized by DepEd, through the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations (OASOPS)-Bureau of Learner Support Services-Youth Formation Division (BLSS-YFD), and hosted by the SDO and City Government of Marikina this year, the five-day event gathers high school learners and youth leaders with diverse backgrounds representing the 228 SDOs from the 17 regions of the country.

The theme for this year’s LearnCon PH, also held in cooperation with the Schools Health Division (SHD), School Sports Division (SSD), Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS), and Learners’ Rights and Protection Office (LRPO), is “SaMakabata: Sentro ng Karunungan, Huwaran ng Kagalingan.”

The regional delegations have been sorted out and assigned to the six host schools: St. Scholastica’s Academy-Marikina, Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College, Marist School, Infant Jesus Academy, Ingenium School, and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina.

The student leaders will attend various symposiums, workshops, discussions, and learning sessions throughout the event.
