Bayo Group, known for Filipino brands like Bayo, Viseversa and Tela, just launched a unique multi-brand store that promotes chic, contemporary, and conscientious fashion.
Fast forward to this post-pandemic era, the success of the websites has led to the opening of these online platforms via a physical store at Glorietta 2.
Alyssa Lagon, Bayo Group Branding and Sustainability executive and Tela founder told The Manila Times Lifestyle in an interview, “It’s our first time to have a store like this where we house our three brands.
“There has been a change in consumer needs,” she noted. “After the pandemic, everyone still wanted convenience. Usually, when we go to malls, we’re with friends and family so what a perfect way to combine the brands that target different markets. There’s something for your mom, for those who are starting a family, for older ones, and younger ones. We believe this is the perfect time to do this.”
What further makes this store special is that it is all about sustainability. The brands under Bayo Group are committed to using eco-friendly materials and practices. They’re repurposing things that would’ve been thrown away, making them useful again.
Committed to unwavering design philosophies and responsible production, there clearly exists an ecosystem of ethically sourcing raw materials and breathing new life into what would otherwise be discarded at the Bayo Group. These take such forms as the Journey to Zero initiative, a pledge towards a circular business model; the sustainable solutions of Tela through fabric usage; the style-made-simple mantra of Viseversa; to the repurposed décor in the flagship boutique.
Not only is awareness raised by each of these pledges, but Earth-friendly consumer practices are exercised every step of the way. At Bayo Group, therefore, one can be sure that its products are made with natural materials (prints from water-based ink, packaging derived from cornstarch, hangtags fashioned from recycled paper), locally produced (made in partnership with communities in Aklan, Argao, and Bulacan), and recycling textile cut-offs.
Meanwhile, upon entering the 200 sqm expanse that accommodates Bayo, Tela and Viseversa in one, visitors are treated to an immersive experience. The generous use of marble, abaca, and other natural elements immediately catch the eye. Notably, the flagship store presents a unique approach to sustainability by repurposing the Holiday 2022 display as barricades, utilizing abaca which are for mannequins, and incorporating recycled hangers.
Beyond its commitment to a sustainable multi-brand offering, this store marks the initial step in Bayo Group’s endeavor to seamlessly merge in-person and online shopping experiences. This integration is further made tangible through the presence of interactive fitting rooms and the convenience of online-to-in-store pick-ups.
Indeed, Bayo Group’s latest move is a step toward a more sustainable and meaningful future.
