Ginebra’s Gray suffers from dislocated knee

High-flying Barangay Ginebra guard Jeremiah Gray suffered from dislocated knee following a bad fall during the Gin Kings’ 91-85 win over NLEX at the conclusion of the PBA On Tour on Sunday at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone relayed the bad news to the Manila Times on Monday.

“Jeremiah had a dislocated knee. The doctors were able to put the knee back in place and straighten it. They are now in the process of evaluating the ligaments surrounding the knee,” Cone said, who accompanied the second overall rookie pick in the 2022 PBA Draft after being stretchered out of the venue and rushed to the Medical City.

The incident happened with just 22 seconds left in the third period and NLEX ahead, 68-66.

The athletic Gray stole the ball from Don Trollano and went full speedup to the basket while eluding NLEX forward Tony Semerad, where he appeared twisted his right knee and crumpled on the floor.

The Ginebra guard held on his hurting right knee, shouting aloud in pain as the team’s medical staff attended on him.

Cone, who was taking time off from his Gilas assistant coaching duties, was on hand to watch the game.

The American mentor said, “decisions have been made yet about surgery (on Gray’s knee).”
