The team made the announcement Tuesday, Jan. 2, an hour after it also disclosed its acquisition of Ara Galang also from the Cargo Movers.

“Ready. Set. Tyang! Mothers, sisters, even fathers — and now, a swishy in the CHERY fam! Welcome to the CHERY Tiggo Crossovers, Aby Maraño!” the post read.

Maraño, 31, will join a strong cast that include sisters EJ and Eya Laure, Jaja Santiago and setter Jasmine Nabor.

Maraño has played with the Cargo Movers since 2016 before the team announced its disbandment early last month.

She was also a former team captain of the national team that competed in the Southeast Asian Games.

The Crossovers are seeking to make an impact this season after they finished fourth in last month’s season-ending All-Filipino Conference. They also placed fifth in the First All-Filipino Conference and eighth in the Invitational Conference. — Kristel Satumbaga-Villar
