Fil-Am talents shine at 75th Emmy Awards

Filipino-American television creators emerged victorious at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Producer-actor Rene Gube is one of the co-executive producers of the critically acclaimed drama-comedy series “The Bear,” which took home six awards at the recently concluded awards night, including the Outstanding Lead Actor, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Directing, Writing in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Comedy Series.

Leann Bowen, on the other hand, is one of the writers and co-executive producers of the award-winning series “Ted Lasso,” which was nominated for multiple categories, including Outstanding Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Lead Actor, Directing, and Writing in a Comedy Series.

“If you’re Filipino out there and you’re looking to get into this business, I gotta say, do it. You’ve got an amazing story. Just put your head down and drill, drill, drill, and something good is going to happen,” Gube said.

After winning at the Emmys, Gube took to his Instagram account to express his gratitude: “Emmys 2024. I love everyone. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Aside from his role at “The Bear,” Gube was also known for his role in the hit series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” while Bowen had also written for the comedy series “Dear White People” and “I Love You, America.”
