Sarnia police say five puppies were taken to the Sarnia and District Humane Society. (Submitted by Sarnia Police Service)
Craddock says police took possession of the dogs under the PAWS Act, which gives officers the ability to act as animal welfare inspectors when animals are in distress.
The mother dog and puppies were transported to the Sarnia and District Humane Society to be cared for, Craddock says.
On the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, police said the puppies are safe now.
“They were definitely worth the cruiser cleanup needed afterwards!,” police said.
Craddock says police are still investigating, and it’s possible they’ll lay charges.
