FEU sweeps Adamson, charges up F4 bid

MANILA, Philippines: The FEU Lady Tamaraws swept the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday, April 9 to charge up their Final Four bid in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament.

Chen Tagaod racked up 12 points, seven excellent receptions, and four digs to lead the fourth-running FEU, which picked up its second straight win to rise to 6-4, creating more separation from the fifth seed Ateneo which sports a 3-7 slate.

Faida Bakanke poured 13 points while Gerzel Petallo notched 11 points, six digs, and seven receptions in the Lady Tamaraws’ triumph, which also eliminated the UP Fighting Maroons from semis contention as the latter could only win as many as five games.

The cellar-dwelling UP is 1-9 as of posting time.

Red Bascon dropped 13 points to pace Adamson which moved on the brink of elimination with a 2-8 slate, seventh in the standings.
