BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Stray Kids, Thai actor Bright attend 2024 Met Gala

Celebrities attended the much-awaited 2024 Met Gala on May 6 at the  Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The star-studded event is in support of the Met Costume Institute’s “spring 2024 exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

The Met Gala, also known as The Costume Institute Benefit,  aims to provide “the department with its primary source of annual funding for exhibitions, publications, acquisitions, operations, and capital improvements.”

Among the celebrities who attended the Met Gala are BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Stray Kids, Thai actor Bright Vachirawit, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Michelle Yeoh, Cardi B, Shakira, Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Nicole Kidman, Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, Pamela Anderson, Nicholas Galitzine, Steven Yeun and Tyla.

This is the second straight year that Jennie attended the Met Gala.

Jennie wore a custom Alaïa blue dress designed by Pieter Mulier.

For the dress, Jennie told Emma Chamberlain, “I let them give me ideas in the beginning but we had multiple fittings and meetings you know just talking about the colors and the fabrics, and this is actually one whole fabric. I think it’s 13 meters, I want to say but yeah,” according to Vogue.

“I don’t think Met day will ever be chill over me but honestly being here last year made me be a bit a little bit more relaxed. But you know still once you start the glam, everything’s so chaotic yes and I’m here,” she said.

“The custom-made dress designed by @pieter_mulier, worn by @jennierubyjane at the 2024 Met Gala. Inspired by the looks presented in the SF24 show, the gown is crafted in a crepe georgette, according to  Alaïa in an Instagram post.

Stray Kids made their debut at the Met Gala wearing Tommy Hilfiger. They are the global ambassador of the brand.

“We’ve got our secret disguises inside. It’s all covered with the coat and hopefully we’ll go up there, unveil everything and hopefully everyone likes it,” said Bang Chan.

He said it was Tommy’s idea to unveil the coat on the red carpet.

“Tommy actually yeah Tommy thought of it and we thought it was a great idea,” he added.

On their styles, Felix said, “I think we all dress up differently but at the same time we match our own colors together and so in a sense we have that point to show the Stray kid’s color. That’s what’s really important.”

Bright wore a Burberry by Daniel Lee.

“Bright’s jacket is made entirely out of pleated georgette. The jacket is embroidered with tonal bullion. The wide-legged silk tuxedo trousers have a tonal bullion stripe,” Lee told Vogue.
