Success continues at 40 with Joel Cruz

Joel Cruz celebrated his 40 years of success in business this year 2023. The “Scentsational 40” event happened at the Cove Okada Manila last June 23.

Present was Hi Society with husband Dr. George Sarakinis, Marisol and Bret Campbell, Vice Ganda, Troy Montero, Amb. Vic and Connie Garcia, Cocoy Cordoba, Irene Montemayor, Agile Zamora, actress Jean Saburit, Faheem Hassan, Fortune Ledesma and Georgette Wilson.

His story behind this celebration starts while in university, studying a preparatory course to becoming a doctor at UST. During family dinners, he would hear both his parents who were both business people talk about business. At age 18, he would buy and sell goods he purchased from Hong Kong and sell it to cover his travel expenses and make a profit.

He did not pursue becoming a doctor, instead engaged in the business of sub-contracting apparel for major department stores. This decision did not sit well with his parents especially his mother who wanted her children to be professionals. He became successful in the apparel business until the 1997 Asian Crisis happened. This made him switch to the perfume business.

He was a trailblazer and democratized the use of perfume for the mass market. He was successful with Aficionado perfume and diversified to personal care. He opened the brand for franchising and with a higher demand, built their own manufacturing plant in Sterling Industrial Park in Meycauayan, Bulacan which grew leaps and bounds up to the international market.

He expanded to food and beverages with Takoyeatea by Joel Cruz offering Japanese food and milk tea at the height of the pandemic in 2020. The 11-room White House of the Lord of Scents is a boutique hotel in Camp John Hay, Baguio City is a venture into the hospitality business. The Mansion of the Lord of Scents in Canyon Woods, Tagaytay is being developed as another boutique hotel. He has a portfolio of real estate properties being rented out or resold for a higher market value, commercial properties in Southern California and a new LED Advertising business.

Joel is more than thankful for these successes and hopes to leave a legacy to his eight children.

Joel is a media-savvy entrepreneur. He has his own YouTube channel and social media platforms. With positive feedback from netizens, he wants to tap vloggers or influencers to be inspired by his success and work as collaborators.

The Joel Cruz Scentsational 40 years of success in business was a thanksgiving and influencer party altogether. More success to you Joel!

Meanwhile, Bobby Alvarez certainly knows how to throw an amazing party!

With his diverse business portfolio and involvement in socio-civic activities, it’s no wonder that he has a wide network of friends and acquaintances who enjoy celebrating with him. The party held at the penthouse of his office building was quite an event.

Bobby’s passion for singing and his impressive singalong setup, including a huge projector screen and sound system, created an atmosphere that would make even David Ackerman, who is fond of singing himself, feel like he’s performing at a concert.

The food served at the party was superb, thanks to the Black Bean restaurant, which is conveniently located on the ground floor of Servequest, Bobby’s office building. It’s even more special because Bobby’s son is a partner of Black Bean. Chef Cris, the managing partner, made sure that everyone received excellent service, and the menu had a wide variety of dishes, desserts, and juices, allowing guests to order according to their preferences.

To make the celebration even more enjoyable, there was an unlimited supply of wine and hard drinks available to all the guests. Bobby and his wife, Claire, certainly went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a great time and that the atmosphere was filled with fun and camaraderie.

The night was further enhanced by the participation of excellent singers like Raymond Gorospe, Vince Borja, Valerie Juanitas, Chuchi Villar, Ricky Agana, Manny Nogado, and Henry Monzones, who joined Bobby singing, adding to the liveliness of the party. Additionally, even without dance instructors, the ladies were able to dance the night away, further enhancing the festive ambiance.

Overall, Bobby and Claire Alvarez created a memorable experience for their guests, filled with laughter, enjoyment, and a sense of togetherness. It’s no wonder that this party hosted by Bobby Alvarez is described as an event that should not be missed.
