Megastar Sharon Cuneta was so elated to see Sen. Raffy Tulfo in the audience of her show with Gabby Concepcion, dubbed “Dear Heart VIP Night” at Okada Manila on Oct. 30. She gushed about him for close to 10 minutes and ended her speech with a plea to be his co-host in the popular “Raffy Tulfo in Action” YouTube show.
“Tonight, I am very honored to have in the audience na, hindi pa sya senador noon, I had already looked up to so much, kasi I could feel – as an actor, as a showbiz personality – alam ko kung ang isang tao umaarte lang. I could feel this person’s sincerity, honesty, and integrity, and I have been such a huge fan of his since ‘Wanted Sa Radyo,’ up to Raffy Tulfo In Action,” Sharon began.

“Sir, I love you, I watch you every day. Team Mega knows that. Pwera biro po, gusto ko po maging co-host niyo,sorry Sharee (Roman, the present co-host). Just in case may sakit si Sharee, wag naman, but no joke sir, I’d love to co-host with you on your show, kahit po once lang, twice, thrice,” Sharon remarked. At this point, the senator gave a thumbs-up sign.
“Kahit me shooting kami diyan, ipa-pack-up ko para maging co-host ako at makatulong ako, in my own, way. Aalalayan ko lang kayo sir,” she stated.
Addressing Sen. Raffy, Sharon, the spouse of Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, added: “As a politician’s wife, I know the good ones and the real bad ones. This is a good one. My heart sincerely, as God is my witness, I am such a fan of yours, when I grow up, I want to be like you even if I never run for politics. God bless you, Sir, and your lovely family.”
“He is a real public servant. And we’re not friends, ha. I guested him to my show once,” she told the crowd. The Megastar ended her speech with a wish to get to know the Tulfo family better: “I hope to invite the family once, maybe for dinner, to get to know you because I’m such a fan!”
“Dear Heart VIP Night” was the second in a series of shows of the phenomenal 80s love team of Sharon and Gabby Concepcion. Just like in their first concert at the Mall of Asia Arena, all seats at Okada’s Grand Ballroom were snapped up, even if the five-course dinner cost as much as P25,000. Fans, many of whom belong to Generation X, carried Sharon/Gabby lightsticks and screamed in excitement every time their two 80s idols got close to each other in the concert. — Annalyn S. Jusay
