Former child actress Raveena Mansukhani takes on a new stage

Raveena Co Mansukhani, a former child actress, has traded her showbiz dreams for a chance to inspire other young girls through pageantry. Crowned Miss Teen International PH 2023, her sights are set on becoming the first Filipina to win the Miss Teen International title when she competes in India next year.

While Raveena once graced the screens as a child actress appearing in TV shows like Tropang Kulit, Dyesebel, and Annasandra, her focus has shifted to self-development and empowerment through pageantry.

“At first I was kind of hesitant,” she confessed, “But now I realized pageantry offers a lot in terms of self-development. I want to inspire others to try and join pageantry because it helps build character. It also helps in honing your social skills and be more confident about yourself.”

Recognizing the struggles young girls face with anxiety and insecurity, Raveena chose mental health as her advocacy.

“Miss Teen International Philippines is a very good platform for young Filipino women eager to express themselves, share their talents, and impart their thoughts. It›s really empowering,” the 18-year-old beauty added.

Driven by her desire to make a difference and represent the Philippines on a global stage, Raveena is dedicated to her training and preparation for the upcoming pageant.

“I’m very consistent with my training, from question and answer to pasarela. I am so excited and really hopeful that I would be able to bring home the crown,” she shared during a recent press conference.

Raveena’s journey from child actress to aspiring Miss Teen International is more than just a personal pursuit of glory. It’s a powerful message to young girls, proving that beauty queens can be agents of inspiration and positive change, shattering the stereotype of them being mere “pretty faces.”

“I want to inspire young girls to be confident, embrace self-development, and advocate for mental health. It’s my personal goal to show everyone that beauty queens can be agents of positive change, not just pretty faces,” she concluded. — Nickie Wang
